About Me

Hi. I’m Jeanette E(lizabeth) Bottoms (nee Wimmer)! For a long time I have been wondering how to go about two different things. One: how to teach some of the many psychic, religious, and/or just interesting things that I have learned in the last 80 years. Two: how to re-establish contact with at least some of the many, many friends and acquaintances that I have met in the sixteen communities in ten states where I have lived.

If you realize that you have known me once-upon-a-time or heard me lecture, or on the radio, or read my column in the newspaper, send me a “
Howdy”. But please realize that '80' up there is not a typo. My 80th birthday is May 13, 2006, so my memory needs a lot of help, especially with names. Give me your name, but also some details about where and when you knew me. I solemnly promise that I will read all messages and reply to as many as I can. Hey, this could be fun!

Basic Stuff

I grew up in Cherokee, Kansas; got my BA in Social Studies from Kansas State Teachers College, Pittsburg, KS in 1947; got my MS in Social Work, 1950, a two year program, the first year of which I took at Washington U. in St. Louis, MO. and the second year from Nashville School of Social Work (sponsored by Vanderbilt, Peabody, and Scaritt) in Nashville, TN; got married; raised a family in Arkansas; moved to Key West, FL; then to Traverse City, MI; got my PhD in Parapsychology from the U. of Beverly Hills (CA) in 1987; moved to Camden,ME; then to La Sal, UT where I am now.

My Psychic Journey

I began my conscious journey into the psychic about 1974 when the Holy Spirit (I realized later) led me to some books which caught my interest and more and more books. With my current memory problems I cannot pull forth the names of those first books but I do know that I soon got into Edgar Cayce’s stuff and was hooked. Next came Dr. Franklin Loehr and the Religious Research Foundation of America. I was trained and ordained by Dr. Loehr as a psychic minister for an unaffiliated congregation. Since then I have read, studied, gone to seminars, worked with my own “team” of spirit guides, and attempted to teach which often leads to more learning for the teacher than the student!

Later I also realized that this came about when it did because it was time for my next step. It’s wonderful to know that we don’t have to worry about a lot of that “stuff” as our souls have mapped out these steps in advance. But it is also important to realize that we have free-will whether or not to follow; how far and how fast, etc.

As you think back over your own childhood or watch youngsters around you today, you might find some of my experiences of interest. I grew up in the Methodist Church so I knew about the Holy Spirit teaching and guiding us so it came natural for me to talk with the spirits I found around me. I assumed that everyone else did too. Then in a high school discussion group about Joan of Arc, the teacher said that she asked questions of God and got answers. The statement and reaction so amazed me that I blurted out, “Don’t YOU!” as I looked around at the group. The looks on their faces shut me up immediately and I did not mention it to anyone again for over 30 years. Literally! (I have often wondered about those other students and their reactions. Maybe, if I am lucky, one of them will read this and get in touch.)

One other childhood incident comes to mind. My mother was a member of a group which met periodically at our house. Mother told them not to discuss anyone being ill when I was around or I would “get it too”. I don’t know how much or how badly this was exhibited in my childhood, but I have since learned that I am a psychic healer and literally pick up symptoms and send healing to people around me, even strangers at a Mall. This has not been much of a problem since I learned what I was doing and how to handle it. With members of my family and others that I love, I do not even have to be nearby. I have been across town and even thousands of miles away when I knew something was happening, but thank goodness it doesn’t happen all the time!

We moved to Utah in 1993. We knew no-one here but since spirit had helped us make the selection I expected to start teaching, doing readings, etc., but it just was not working out so I gradually settled into what seemed to be my next assignment. Astral projection comes to me naturally and was now to be used for two different projects.

You probably know about people who come close to death talking often times about the tunnel with the light at the end and usually an angel or someone they knew on earth being there to meet them. This is evidently a fairly typical dying experience. But sometimes a “hitch” occurs and, even though the body has died, the personality does not let go and move on. They simply do not hear and/or respond to excarnate contacts. It requires an incarnate spirit, even if temporarily out of its own body, to reach them. That is where I come in. Even though very little comes through to my conscious level, I know that I am given enough information about them to get their attention and then to take them on to their loved ones on “the other side”. They recognize them and go willingly; then my job is over. Let me mention that intense grieving and “holding on” to the dying person by those left on earth makes it much more difficult for them to “die”. Put them in God’s hands and trust that what is right and best for them will happen.

People like these who are not helped to move on or who for some other reason are stuck in the in-between can also be helped by the incarnate spirit traveling free and were to become the subjects of my second project. They are among the persons who need to be helped before the Second Coming of Jesus. Again, it is only occasionally that I get information on a conscious level about the situation. When I would become too depressed about things in my current life, I would be given the chance to know how much and what I was really doing. It definitely helped!

But now it has been indicated that it is time for a new direction in my work as a teacher. So, with family help, I am starting this website to reach out to as many people as possible in these days of change and uncertainty.
