DEAR JEANETTE: Do soul mates reincarnate together?
DEAR : Let me begin by defining the term “soul mate” as I understand it so that we are all talking about the same thing.
The total soul is androgynous -- having the characteristics and nature of both male and female. In order to come into the polarized world of matter which we call Earth, the soul must also be polarized. So the soul’s energies or characteristics are divided into the masculine and feminine, the positive and negative in the sense of poles of a battery, not in the sense of good and bad. For ease and practical purposes each of these half-souls is called simply a soul (rather than half-soul) while they remain connected with the Earth.
Soul mates then are the two half-souls which have come from the same total soul. Each will have incarnations in both the masculine and the feminine since the reason for having Earth experience is to learn and understand God’s laws. It would be impossible for there to be true understanding if the experience had not been gained from both sides of the energy polarization.
Finally I will get around to answering your question with a yes, maybe, sometimes. Soul mates do very often have incarnates on the Earth at the same time but not always. I believe we are safe in saying that they are always around to help each other in some way or other. This may mean that one will stay in the spirit (not reincarnate at that time) if it is decided that the most help can be given from that position.
Frequently both souls will be involved in Earth living at the same time. They will usually be in a close relationship but only occasionally will they be husband and wife to each other. They may not even know each other throughout the entire lifetime, but they will have developed a closeness for a particular time when the help of one is needed by the other.
They may be of the same sex or opposites. They may be in the same age bracket or two or three generations apart as grandparent-grandchild for instance. They may be in different races, different financial, or cultural groups, etc. In other words your soul mate can be anyone you know who at some time has been (or will be) in a very supportive, loving relationship to you. Or perhaps you will be the one in the supportive position.
Probably one of the times when they are of the very most help is when one of the two is having the first major experience outside the native gender. In other words when the masculine soul (half-soul) is having its first full experience in the feminine, the soul mate will be present in the feminine in a position to be truly a way-shower or model. Mother, older sister, grandmother, even foster or adoptive mother roles would allow the feminine soul mate to teach and support the masculine soul in this experience which can sometimes be difficult.
The favor would of course be returned in another set of lifetimes when the feminine soul has its first major lifetime in the masculine with the help of a loving father, older brother, etc.
Many times Earth living is not an easy experience for the soul (or the personality) but God has provided many ways in which we get support and help as we learn the necessary lessons and move from grade to grade in this school.
Another time we will speak of a more popularly accepted definition of “soul mate”.
