The Total Entity
DEAR JEANETTE: What is the total entity? Or is this too long and complicated for your column? Does the total entity ever incarnate? No name, Key West, FL.
DEAR NO NAME: A complete explanation of even what comparatively little I know about the ‘total entity’ or ‘soul’ as I use that term, would indeed be too long for the column but I will give you as much as possible.
Remember that the definitions of words used in religion-metaphysics are not standardized so this is the way I (and many others but not all) use the word ‘soul’. It refers to the beginning stage or ‘childhood’ of the ‘individuated God-being’ (that’s a mouthful, isn’t it?) which is a bundle of energies taken from the very Beingness of God.
Now in the beginning, these energies are unorganized and provide a very poor base from which the soul can operate. in other cosmic schools, as well as in early incarnations, the young soul is trying to learn to walk, and talk or whatever their equivalents are for the spirit world. When the foundation is complete, the soul gradually learns of more complex laws governing the use of his own energies and in addition finds that there are other sources of energy (besides his own beingness) upon which he can draw for particular needs.
In this sense, the soul in its entirety or through its personalities, becomes a mini-cocreator with God as it creates it’s own world through cause and effect (karma). Often times a soul will make mistakes, but these will not be fatal since this is a learning process. Just as on earth, failure can often teach more than success.
As the soul comes to the last quarter of its earthtime, it will use many of its incarnations in service to the earth itself and to the younger souls thereon. There are several stages or schools following the earthtime during which the individuated God-beingness continues to develop toward that state of perfection which Jesus stated was the goal for each of us.
Let me state briefly that the total soul does not incarnate at any one time. It is much too large and powerful for that. It would “blow all the fuses” of the earth body. Also in each soul’s development there will come a time when a personality will have a strong trait, for example will-power, and will misuse it. In our example it might be manipulating other people whose wills were weaker. To understand what this does to the weaker person, the soul will probably later have an incarnation during which he or she is manipulated by another. This would not be possible if that same strong will-power were present so that trait is not given by the soul to the new incarnate.
