Why Study Reincarnation?

DEAR JEANETTE: You talk a lot about reincarnation and other lifetimes. All of that may be true but I don’t see what good it does to find out about it. P.J.,Calexico. CA.

DEAR P.J.: One of the first things that happened when I began to find out about my own past lives was that I got a feeling of reality for what had previously been just a theory. This acceptance causes a ‘theory’ to affect your way of life as, at least for you, it becomes a ‘fact’.

Some people suggest that this will cause a person to feel free to do just about anything because ‘they can make up for it in a later lifetime’. Even the most elementary understanding of how reincarnation works will usually bring exactly the opposite reaction.

The rewards for progress are considerable and worth striving for while the corrective measures which are brought about by shunning the rules and responsibility are much less desirable.

Knowing something of the things that previous incarnations from your soul have experienced will help you to understand yourself as you are today. You can see how this would work if you think of a friend whom you did not know as a child. When you learn something of his or her background you begin to better understand the person that has developed.

Past life counseling has combined with physical medicine to provide cures for otherwise unresponsive conditions varying from obesity to infertility, almost every conceivable fear or phobia to asthma, headaches, hernias, birthmarks, alcoholism, cleft palate, visual problems and many other situations.

In addition, past life information has brought understanding concerning many conditions that it was not possible to change including crippling conditions, hemophilia, mental retardation, birth defects, etc.

Finding out about your past lives will often show a pattern of development which will reveal the goal or at least some of the major interests of your soul. This will enable you to be of even greater service to your soul as you work, from a conscious viewpoint, in that area of interest.

All in all, understanding who and what you are and where you are going will be much easier by gaining some understanding of who else you have been and what you experienced in those other places and times.

Besides all of that: it can be lots of fun! If you enjoy reading adventure stories or historical novels (or seeing the movies) then think how much better they will be when you are the main character!
