Chapter 2
The Age of Aquarius
and the
Second Coming of Jesus and Mary
Because of the popular song, "Dawning of the Age of Aquarius", many people are aware of it, but probably most do not know much about it. As Astrology is studied in its broader terms, more is utilized from the more scientifically-recognized field of Astronomy. One of these is the much longer time spans involved in dealing with the universe in total.
In the context of this longer time span, the term "Great Year" corresponds to our earthly year; but instead of being 12 months long, it is 26,000 years in length. Thus each "Age", corresponding to the earthly month, is considered to be 2,160 earth years long. However, the "cusp" or conversion point of one Age into the next is quite lengthy with the forces of one dwindling while those of the other strengthen. Also it may be helpful to note that the Ages proceed through the signs of the zodiac in the opposite direction from the monthly progress. (Oken, Alan. “Astrology: Evolution and Revolution, a Path to Higher Consciousness Through Astrology”. New York: Bantam Books, l976.) Oken also tells us in this, the third in his definitive series on astrology, that the Age of Taurus is considered to have run from c. 4220 B.C. to c. 2160 B.C. while the Age of Aries extended from c. 2160 B.C. to c. 1 A.D. when the Age of Pisces officially started (and will extend, in its dwindling forcefulness, until c. 2160 A.D.).
These definitive beginning and ending dates are perhaps misleading to most of us since the concurrent dwindling and growing of the respective forces extends over hundreds of years - the "cusp" of the Ages. We are in such a cusp now and analysis of the forces at work shows that both the Industrial Revolution and the Protestant Revolution are actually products of the forces of the Age of Aquarius which is an age of intellectual use and development as contrasted to the emotional emphasis of the Age of Pisces which was characterized by the teaching of love by Jesus, the Avatar of the Age. (Avatar is a Sanskrit word meaning incarnation or embodiment but used in the above context to mean the leader of an Age.)
Perhaps this explanation from Oken will be helpful in understanding how this works. “The power of Taurus held the people to the earth. The Egyptians built their vast agricultural empire through an economy based on slavery. The many peoples the Egyptians kept in servitude included Jews, who would develop a very important concept in the evolution of religious thought -- monotheism. It is in the history of the ancient race that we find the transition period between two other world Ages. It was the Great Initiate, Moses, who led the Jews (Mankind) out of the bondage to the land (Taurus) through the wanderings in the desert of Sinai (the Cusp of the Ages) to pioneer in the land of Israel (Aries). It was there that Jesus of Nazareth was born some 2000 years later (Pisces).
The Bible gives many evidences of these changes even though they are not usually stated in Astrological terms except for those who read with a discerning eye. For example the 29th Chapter of Exodus tells the story of the consecration of Aaron and his sons as priests of the Lord. A bull is to be slain in ceremonial manner with most of it being burned “outside the camp; it is a sin offering.” (29:14) Then the ram is ceremonially slain and, along with specific types of bread, is given to Moses to “burn them on the altar in addition to the burnt offering, as a pleasing odor before the Lord; it is an offering by fire to the Lord.” (29:25)
As the Biblical accounting continues, Exodus Chapter 32 tells us of Moses’ prolonged absence during which time the Children of Israel and Aaron melt down their golden earrings and form a golden calf which they put upon the altar and bow down before. Upon his return, Moses is so incensed that he even breaks the tablets given him by the Lord. This, you see, was a return to the symbol of the Age of Taurus (the calf representing the bull of Taurus) which they must put behind them and press on into the Age of Aries, during which time the lamb, as the young of the Arian ram, became the appropriate symbol.
Again we see the change of symbols as the change is made from the Age of Aries into the Age of Pisces. Although Jesus often is represented as the “lamb of God” (having come out of the Age of Aries) the symbology which he and his followers present are of the Age of Pisces. Fishermen form a larger portion of his disciples than any other occupation. It is FISH and bread that are used in all episodes of miraculous feeding of multitudes of people even though lamb was also commonly used by the people. Baptism was with water. The approach to religion was through the emotions, love and faith, and Pisces is known to be an emotionally oriented sign of the zodiac. The fish even became the secret sign used among the early Christians to identify themselves and their meeting places.
As we move further and further into the Age of Aquarius we see one of its attributes (it is known as the Age of Conscious Awareness among other titles) being exhibited as at least some of the people of the world become consciously aware of these changes and the significance of them. Thus we find those who are actively awaiting the coming of the Avatar of this Age and helping to prepare for it. There has been similar preparation in other Ages, i.e., the psychological readying of the Jews in Egypt to follow Moses and the Essenic teachings prior to the coming of Jesus, as evidenced by the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Thus it is believed by this writer that the New Age Movement represents the preparatory thinking for the coming of the Avatar of the Age of Aquarius. It is partially represented also by the increased attention to the biblical prophecies concerning the Second Coming of Jesus as many of the prophetic perquisites are fulfilled. Space limitations dictate the elimination of this lengthy information which is so widely accepted by many branches of Christianity.
Another Christian development which is usually well known but perhaps not often viewed in its connection with the Age of Aquarius is the increased attention over the last several centuries to Mary, the Mother of Jesus in his final incarnation. Even though my own background is Methodist and Presbyterian, like most Protestants, I knew of the Roman Catholic devotion to Mary, the use of the Rosary, the apparitional appearances that she had made at Lourdes in France and at Fatima in Portugal and more recently in Spain, Egypt, Yugoslavia, etc.
After having studied with the RRFA and the material given by Ramsingh through our channeling sessions, a broader meaning to this increased interest in Mary becomes evident.
Let us consider first the sexual orientation of the soul during earth living. Roy Smith states Dr. Loehr’s (RRFA) findings: “The soul experiences earth life as a human being, a personality with a body. The whole soul as a unit is too much for a human personality. When the soul is scheduled for earth life it is split into two parts called soul mates. This split separates the soul energies along masculine and feminine lines, thus polarizing the soul sexually. This makes it compatible with earth life. Male and female polarization is a characteristic of both plant and animal life. The earth is a polarized environment.”
Thus we realize that Jesus and Mary are soul mates, two parts of the same soul. So when one half, Jesus, at the baptism by John, reached the level of being Christed, it is to be assumed that the other half did too. However, the cultural milieu of the day prevented this from being recognized at that time. Although there is no specific reference to this in our current versions of the Bible, the Roman Catholics accept the Assumption of Mary into Heaven (as she left the earth living without experiencing death) and her Coronation as the Queen of Heaven. This latter I accept to be her Christing but, again, because of the level of mankind’s thinking and development, this was not recognized.
So we find the stage set for the return of both Jesus and Mary, the completed Soul as polarized for the earth, as the Avatar(s) of the Age of Aquarius.
The next question that arises is: where do we, as individuals, fit into this picture? At this point I will speak only for myself even though my investigative work has helped a number of others to know more about their own places in it also.
As the next two chapters will detail more completely, the bulk of my knowledge concerning my relationship with Jesus and Mary came through past-life recalls, sometimes verified and supplemented by clairvoyant readings and my own channeling. Many hours were spent over a period of several years in public, semi-private, and private sessions which were either conducted or self-directed in order to gain this self-knowledge.
It is impossible to give all of this recall material in complete detail but Chapter 4 gives a verbatim account of one of the longer public sessions which was held in 1982, near the beginning of my search. The following Chapter summarizes then the other information received through the many sessions.
