Good to be Alive

Have you thought recently how GOOD it is to be alive? Yes, even if you are in pain, have heavy debts or family problems, maybe even in jail or the hospital. It is good because ‘life’ is a gift from God. Thus just the fact of life itself proves that you have been favored by God since we give gifts to those we love and who are special to us.

“I am special to God!” Say this several times to yourself. Does it seem unbelievable? You are alive, aren’t you? Then it is just a simple truth that you need to believe and accept.

“I am special to God!” Yes, friend, you cannot have sunk too low, you cannot be in too much trouble, too ‘bad’, or ‘too far gone’ to have lost your special status with God. You are beloved.

“But so what?”, you say. “That doesn’t change the circumstances right now!” Perhaps not, but as those advocates of ‘positive thinking’ can tell you, realizing that you are someone important can, just by itself, help you gradually to change the situation in which your are.

And you have more going for you than that! The fact that you are reading this column means that you are ready for more help and direction from your guides, whose job it is to help you accomplish whatever you want to do. If your aim is a good one, you will receive help of a most direct and almost visible nature. Of course, your progress may be gradual but it will be certain if you hold to that high purpose.

Decide, with prayer and meditation, upon what you really want to do or be. You will get that which you ask for, eventually if not immediately. With further prayer and meditation, ask for that direction and help that will get you to your goal.

Go to work as if you would have no help at all! You may have heard the old saying, “Work as if everything depended on you and pray as if everything depended on God.” That is very good. The way will be opened before you, opportunities provided, even the necessary strength given, if you will work toward your goal.

This has become almost a sermon, hasn’t it? Well, generally I will not use our column time for such messages, but there is at least one person who will read this column today for whom these particular words are very important as they have been dictated and printed.

With love, Ramsingh
