On Fatigue
Are you often or perhaps all of the time, a victim of “fatigue”? This should not be, as it is unnecessary and an undesirable state of being.
There are several kinds of fatigue and several simple remedies that may be very helpful to you. Now I mentioned that they are simple, but you must not, therefore, assume that they are unimportant. You have an Earth saying, “The best things in life are free”. Well, many of the most effective things are also both free and simple if they are properly applied.
So my job today is to help you understand a few of these simple treatments and then it becomes your job to apply them and actually put them into use. Knowledge does no good unless it is used for something.
What is fatigue? It is a state of imbalance between or among the various factors in the body, mind, and/or spirit which combine to make up “you”. Very often a good night’s rest is all that it takes to bring everything back into balance. But if you get up tired after that “rest” or if the very fatigue seems to make it impossible or difficult for you to rest properly, then you need to look further for both the cause and the cure.
Remember that fatigue results from an imbalance. This could be in your work-play habits. Yes, playing too much can leave you both physically tired and fatigued overall. We need to have meaningfulness to our lives or we are imbalanced. So give yourself both play time and work time. If you no longer have to work for a salary, then find a way to spend some time that puts at least a little responsibility on you; then meet and fulfill it.
The imbalance may come from your eating habits so choose a balanced diet. Study and maybe even experiment a bit with this. Remember that each body is different so there is no one diet that is truly best for all. Be a vegetarian if this feels right to you but don’t use someone else’s judgment for this decision. Even nutritionists are dealing with averages which may or may not apply to you. Now it is good to get the help of various professionals in any phase of physical care, but always you must be the final judge of what best fits you and your body.
Please don’t forget the spiritual balance in your life. The fatigue may be a sign to you to pay more attention to this third part of yourself which many today are neglecting. Now just because we call it spiritual does not mean that we are saying that you have to start going back to the church of your childhood if you have since developed tensions and resistances to “religion”. But do pay attention to that still, small voice within which is urging you to bring this balance into your life.
The guidance given you by that voice will lead you, if you will listen and pay heed, to the planes and persons that will fit your need at this time. It may not necessarily seem like a “spiritual” group or experience to you, but if you are listening then it will be that which you need at this time. The spiritual area of our lives actually includes so much more than most religious groups seem to consider.
Our advice boils down again to: listen, consider, meditate (whichever method suits you best) about it and then act upon that which your own beingness tells you to do. YOU, when you really become acquainted with yourself, will be your own best counselor, doctor, priest, and friend.
Come, dear friend, allow me to introduce you to the most important person you will ever meet - yourself!
